VSP investigating fatal crash in Lee Co.
LEE COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) - Virginia State Police (VSP) announced on Tuesday that it is investigating a deadly two-car crash that happened on Monday night. According to VSP, at 11:44 p.m. Monday, a Nissan Armada struck a Ford Thunderbird "multiple times" at the intersection of Route 642 and Route 798. As both came through the intersection, the Thunderbird reportedly went through a guardrail, off the right side of the road and struck a home. A female passenger in the Thunderbird was pronounced dead, and the driver of the Thunderbird was injured. The driver of the Armada stayed on the scene, the VSP said. VSP said charges are pending consultation with the Commonwealth's Attorney and that the two parties were known to each other. The VSP said the crash remains under investigation.
