Video shows car slamming into iconic L.A. doughnut shop
A multi-vehicle collision sent one car crashing into the side of a decades-old Los Angeles doughnut shop overnight. The incident was reported around 11:30 p.m. Sunday at Kindle’s Donuts, located at Normandie Avenue and West Century Boulevard in the Westmont area. Witnesses told news video service RMG News that a blue sedan ran a red light before slamming into a Tesla and a red Chevrolet Camaro. Surveillance video showing the sedan traveling through the intersection appears to confirm the witness accounts. The vehicle was then struck by the Tesla and bounced off the Camaro before crashing into the doughnut shop. One person was taken by ambulance from the scene. Video showed the patient was conscious and apparently talking on a cellphone while being loaded into an ambulance. The side of the shop was badly damaged in the crash. The building was designed in the 1950s and features the same giant doughnut-shaped sign on the roof as the famous Randy’s Donuts in Inglewood. All parties involved in the crash remained at the scene and no arrests have been made, a California Highway Patrol spokesperson told KTLA. The cause of the incident, including the possibility of a medical emergency, remains under investigation, according to the spokesperson.
