Vehicle accident rolls into Chico’s Tacos
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - A crash involving two vehicles left visible damage inside and outside Chico's Tacos in Northeast El Paso on Wednesday, April 15, reportedly forcing the popular restaurant to close for the rest of the day. Video from the scene showed a pickup truck and an SUV with significant damage outside the restaurant at 3401 Dyer Street during business hours. The impact also shattered the restaurant’s front glass door and bent its metal frame, while several chairs inside were knocked over. A customer inside at the time climbed onto a chair to see the damage as a woman recorded the aftermath. In one video, a woman can be heard reacting, saying, "Oh my God… this is crazy." According to the El Paso Fire Department, one person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. In footage shared on social media, a woman at the scene claimed the damaged pickup truck belongs to her, telling another person, "We had just gotten here." A woman recording a separate video can be heard commenting on the crash, "They wanted Chico's real bad. They said, 'we're gonna make our own drive thru.'" The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time.
