The officer's name has not been released, but he was in his 20s, and he had been on the force for about two years. He was a Marine Corps veteran and was engaged to be married. (WKRG) — A two-vehicle crash involving a Thomasville Police officer has claimed the life of that officer and shut down Highway 43, according to officials. The crash happened around 5:30 this morning on Highway 43 near Hardees. The officer was on duty at the time. According to a news release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, all lanes of Highway 43 near the 90 mile marker in Clarke County are blocked and will be closed for an undetermined amount of time. News 5 is headed to the scene and will update as information is available.
