Two of the three motorcyclists killed in a crash near Kooskia were sheriff deputies

The Idaho County Coroner confirmed the identities of the three motorcyclists killed in a crash east of Kooskia , near Lowell, earlier this week. They were all from Colorado, as is the driver accused of crashing into and killing them: Ethan Powers, age 35, of Timnath, Colorado Jeremy Coleman, age 45, of Berthoud, Colorado Nathan McCormick, age 26, of Loveland, Colorado. The coroner said, "All families have been notified. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones impacted by this tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate this heartbreaking loss." Two of the men killed were Larimer County Sheriff's deputies. The office posted the following statement on social media: On June 16, an LCSO Deputy, Sergeant, and Sergeant's family member were vacationing together on a motorcycle trip. The men were traveling on a North Idaho scenic highway when a pickup truck attempted to pass another vehicle in a marked no-passing zone. The truck crossed the double yellow centerline and collided with the motorcycles, killing all three riders...There are no good words in a situation like this. Put simply, these were incredible people who dedicated their lives to making Larimer County better every single day. They trained hard, they served well, and they loved life. As we walk the long and winding path of grief alongside their families, our resolve is stronger than ever. According to the Idaho State Police, Neal Bewer, a 60-year-old woman from Colorado Springs, hit the three riders head-on after crossing the center line while trying to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone on U.S. Highway 12 (milepost 113) on Tuesday afternoon. Bewer was arrested and booked into the Idaho County Jail on probable cause for three counts of vehicular manslaughter.
