Two individuals die in Aurora after driver wrecks reportedly stolen vehicle

Two individuals tragically lost their lives after a driver of a stolen vehicle crashed the car, resulting in both their deaths. The incident occurred on Monday morning at the intersection of East Alameda Avenue and South Peoria Street in Aurora. Reports indicate that Aurora police were in pursuit of the stolen car as the driver attempted to evade capture. The car, which was reported stolen in Fort Collins over the weekend, was eventually located at the intersection where the fatal crash occurred. The vehicle was extensively damaged, with photos showing it collided with a light pole. Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved in the incident, and no injuries were reported aside from the fatalities. Aurora Police District 1 Cmdr. Justin Shipley mentioned that an internal review will be conducted regarding the pursuit and department procedures. The identities of the two deceased individuals have not been disclosed, but investigators suspect they were adults. Despite the tragedy, Cmdr. Shipley acknowledged the potential danger posed to the community during the pursuit and highlighted the reckless driving behavior exhibited by the fleeing individuals.
