Driver charged with aggravated vehicular homicide in deadly Clintonville crash

Charges have been filed months after a deadly crash in Clintonville that left a 62-year-old man trapped in a burning car. Police said the crash happened the evening of Nov. 30 on East Cooke Road near Overbrook Drive. Investigators said Husein Shariff crossed the center line and crashed into Martin Smith , 62. Smith’s car caught fire after the crash, trapping him inside. He died at the scene. Police said Shariff and a passenger suffered minor injuries. Shariff is now charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. He's expected in court Thursday afternoon.
