Two hurt in crash along I-66 in Fairfax County

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Two people were hurt during a car crash on Interstate 66 on Wednesday afternoon. The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department said at around 5 p.m., first responders were called to a two-vehicle crash along the eastbound lanes of I-66. It was reported that the crash caused someone to be trapped inside their car. One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A second person was evaluated and taken to the hospital as well. They are both in stable condition. Virginia State Police (VSP) was investigating the crash. Preliminarily, VSP said the crash happened in the Express Lanes near Monument Drive. A car struck a stationary disabled car in the right lane of the Express Lanes.
