Two fatalities in collision on I-80 in Placer County, according to CHP
Two individuals lost their lives in a tragic accident on Wednesday on westbound Interstate 80 in Weimar, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. near Weimar Cross Road in Placer County. Law enforcement officials indicated that a man and a woman were fatally injured in the incident, with no other individuals in the vehicle. The car veered off the road, went down an embankment, and collided with a tree. The right lane on westbound I-80 was shut down after the crash but reopened by 5 p.m. Law enforcement is currently investigating the circumstances of the accident.
