Motorcyclist killed in east Asheville crash

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) - Police are investigating a crash which killed a motorcyclist last week. According to Asheville Police Department, officers were called Friday to the 200 block of Tunnel Road for a reported wreck with serious injuries. Police said 34-year-old Justin Tyler Evans was driving a Yamaha motorcycle with a passenger on board west on Tunnel Road at a high rate of speed and making sudden lane changes when he crashed with a SUV attempting to make a left turn onto Buckstone Place. Evans and his passenger were thrown from the motorcycle and sustained critical injuries. They were transported to Mission Hospital, where Evans later succumbed to his injuries. The investigation into the collision is active and ongoing. Upon completion of the investigation, the Asheville Police Department will consult with the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office.
