Man killed in Ogden motorcycle crash identified

OGDEN, Utah (ABC4) — Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash in Ogden on Tuesday. At approximately 12:30 p.m. on July 7, Ogden Police officers responded to the area of the 3300 block of Washington Boulevard for reports of a crash. When they arrived, they determined that a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on Washington Boulevard. At the same time, a Ford Escape exited the parking lot at 3355 Washington Boulevard, attempting to make a left-hand turn. The motorcyclist was "unable to avoid the collision" and struck the front of the Ford Escape. Unfortunately, he was seriously injured and, despite attempted lifesaving measures at the scene, died as a result of his injuries. Police have since identified the motorcyclist as 68-year-old Robert Bow. Ogden Police says the Weber Metro Crash Team was activated and is continuing to investigate the collision. "We recognize that incidents like this are painful for the family, those who witnessed thecrash, and the first responders who came to help," they stated. "We are grateful to the community members who stopped to assist or attempted to provide aid, and we appreciate the work of our officers, firefighters, and medical personnel who responded to a very difficult scene" Additionally, police are asking the public to use extra caution on Utah roads, especially during the summer months, which they say are the deadliest time of the year for traffic crashes. They stated, "Please slow down, stay alert, keep a proper lookout for motorcycles, bicycles, pedestrians, and other vehicles, and make safe driving a priority every time you get behindthe wheel."
