Scooter driver seriously hurt after being hit by car near New Bern Avenue in Raleigh, police say
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A person driving a scooter was seriously hurt after being hit by a vehicle in Raleigh Friday morning, police said. According to the Raleigh Police Department, a scooter and a vehicle were involved in a crash near New Bern Avenue and Old Milburnie Road just after 8 a.m. The driver of the scooter was taken to the hospital in serious condition, according to Raleigh police. Police said the driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene. There are no signs of impairement. One lane of inbound traffic on Old Milburnie Road will be closed while officers investigate the scene. The closure may last for about one to two hours, according to Raleigh police.
