Trainer of Anthony Joshua Dies in Car Crash, Confirmed by Nigerian President

During the tragic accident that injured Anthony Joshua, two individuals close to the boxing star lost their lives – his trainers and longtime friends, Sina Ghami and Kevin "Latif" Ayodele, as confirmed by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president of Nigeria. In a recent statement, Tinubu expressed his condolences and mentioned that he had a conversation with Anthony Joshua regarding the devastating losses. Joshua informed Tinubu that he is receiving the best care possible. Tinubu also spoke with Joshua's mother and offered prayers, which she greatly appreciated. Sina, who was AJ's exercise rehabilitation coach for a decade and co-founder of Evolve Gym, shared his final Instagram Story from a trip to Nigeria. Latif, Joshua's personal trainer and close friend, was featured in Joshua's last post before the accident, which showed them playing table tennis. Various boxers, including three-division world champion Badou Jack, expressed their condolences and support. Jack is raising funds to construct a mosque and a borehole in memory of Latz. Chris Eubank Jr. and Joshua's opponent, Jake Paul, also sent their thoughts and prayers. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Nigeria revealed that Joshua was seated in the rear of a black Lexus SUV involved in the accident. The vehicle was allegedly traveling above the lawful speed limit. The driver of the truck lost control and collided with a stationary truck on the side of the road. Despite the tragic incident, Joshua is conscious and in touch with his family.
