Traffic delays on Vasco Road due to crashes and dense fog
Numerous accidents and heavy fog were reported on Friday afternoon along Vasco Road in the Diablo Range, as per the California Highway Patrol. The incidents involved multiple crashes, one of which resulted in injury to a firefighter. Contra Costa Fire Protection District stated that a firefighter was hurt while responding to a fog-related collision. Despite being able to mostly avoid the oncoming car, he suffered lower extremity injuries and was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Around six vehicles were involved in the accidents, and it's unclear if there were any other injuries. Vasco Road in both directions was shut down in Livermore and Brentwood but later reopened at 4 p.m.
