TRAFFIC ALERT: Multi-vehicle accident prompts road closures in South Salt Lake
SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (ABC4) — Part of State Street in South Salt Lake is closed following a traffic accident involving multiple vehicles. According to South Salt Lake Police Department, northbound State Street is closed from Claybourne Avenue to 2700 South, and 2700 South is closed in both directions from Main Street to Edison Avenue. South Salt Lake Police Department said that the incident happened at around 1:50 p.m. at the intersection of 2700 South and State Street. It was a two-vehicle crash between a Ford Bronco and a silver Chevrolet van. The Bronco was tilted to its side, and two people who were in the van were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Bronco remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, which is underway. As of 3 p.m., the scene appears to be cleared, but the roads will remain closed while the investigation is conducted. Police are advising driver to avoid the area and to use alternative routes if possible.
