Suspect in fatal street racing crash has bond reduces after nearly a month in jail
SAN ANTONIO - A suspect arrested in connection with a deadly street racing crash that killed a 17-year-old girl had his bond amount cut in half. On Monday, the bond for Vynzell Edward McGarity was brought down from $100,000 to a $50,000 attorney bond. This reduction in bond comes wth strict restrictions, including random drug and alcohol testing, prohibition of firearms possession, no driving, and full house arrest forthe suspect, pending trial. The major crash occurred at approximately 10:22 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, near 1100 Southwest Military Drive. Police say a white Dodge Charger was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed while racing another vehicle when the driver changed lanes and struck the woman as she was crossing the street.
