TRAFFIC ALERT: Crash closes 4 lanes on I-15 near Draper, closure expected to last hours
DRAPER, Utah (ABC4) — A crash involving three vehicles and a semi-truck on Interstate 15 at Point of the Mountain closed four lanes traveling northbound. According to UDOT, the crash happened on northbound I-15, south of 14600 South and Draper, at about 15000 South. The four left lanes (of six) were closed, and the left shoulder was also blocked. The crash happened around 6:45 p.m., and the initial estimated clearance time was 9:47 p.m. At around 7:30 p.m., Lt. Cameron Roden with Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) told ABC4.com that all lanes had been reopened except for the HOV lane. According Roden, three vehicles and a semi-truck were involved in the crash. UHP is still determining exactly what happened, but one male was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. Based on traffic cameras from UDOT, it appears that one vehicle rolled over. Roden stated that officials will likely be on scene for more than an hour, and he said that one of the vehicles had the engine completely knocked out of it.
