Traffic accident near Lindsay leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

A tragic accident occurred near Lindsay, California, late Monday night involving a semi-truck carrying corrosive material. According to the California Highway Patrol, one individual passed away and two others were injured in the collision at the intersection of Highway 137 and Road 196 around 8:30 p.m. The semi-truck, traveling eastbound on Highway 137, collided with a white sedan heading southbound on Road 196, resulting in the semi-truck crashing into a tree and overturning, causing the corrosive material spill. The driver of the semi-truck sustained major injuries and was taken to the hospital, while a juvenile from the sedan was also hospitalized. Unfortunately, one occupant of the sedan succumbed to the crash. As a result of the HAZMAT spill, Highway 137 between Highway 99 and Highway 65 was closed by Caltrans, with an estimated two-hour closure for cleanup. The incident is currently being investigated by authorities.
