Teen killed in motorcycle crash in Antioch
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A teenage motorcyclist died after crashing into a vehicle at an Antioch intersection Wednesday evening, authorities said. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the collision took place at the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Summercrest Drive around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11. Officials said the preliminary investigation indicates Brent Rager II, 18, of La Vergne, was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle at a high rate of speed along Murfreesboro Pike when an Infiniti SUV entered the intersection from Summercrest Drive. The driver of the Infiniti reportedly had a green light at the time. Based on video evidence, the motorcyclist ran the red light and hit the driver's side door of the SUV, law enforcement said. Rager died on impact, but the Infiniti's driver only sustained minor injuries. According to authorities, neither the motorcyclist nor the SUV driver showed any signs of impairment at the scene. No additional details have been released about this incident.
