Single-vehicle crash results in death of Crane man
SPRINGVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One man is dead after a single-vehicle crash on I-69 Sunday morning. Indiana State Police report that Troopers responded to a truck on its side in the median of I-69, south of Bloomington, around 4:20 a.m. on Sunday. A man, later identified as Brandon M Koontz, of Crane, was ejected and found in the median approximately 50 feet from the truck. An investigation by State Police indicated that the truck exited the roadway and struck a ditch in the center of the median. The vehicle then went airborne and started rolling before coming to rest. Greene County EMS and firefighters responded to the scene. Indiana State Police were also assisted by officers from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department and the Greene County Coroner. Authorities state that the fatal crash remains under investigation and toxicology results are pending.
