Side by side crash leaves one dead, one facing charges
HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - A side by side accident in Daviess County, Indiana leaves one dead and another facing charges. According to the Daviess County Sheriff's Office, at about 10:37 p.m., dispatch received a call of the crash with one individual pinned under the vehicle. An investigation revealed Miranda Knepp, 31, of Washington, Indiana, was driving a 2016 Polaris west on CR 450 South with Israel Waggoner, 28, of Washington, Indiana in the front passenger seat. Knepp claimed she swerved to miss an oncoming vehicle, causing her to lose control, rolled onto the passenger side, sliding for several yards before coming to rest off the south side of the road. Officials say seat belts were not worn. Waggoner was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials state Knepp submitted to a chemical test with results showing a reading of .12. She was booked into the Daviess County Security Center on one count of OVWI Causing Death.
