Triple fatal accident closes I-77N in Jackson County
JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WOWK) - The northbound lanes of I-77 are closed after a multi-vehicle accident Thursday morning. According to West Virginia 511, the accident happened at mile marker 119 in the Goldtown area around 7:30 a.m. According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, three people have died as a result of this crash. Following a preliminary investigation, it is believed that a Red Dodge pickup truck crossed over the median and hit a Black Kia head-on. There were also minor injuries reported from other vehicles that were around the crash. Jackson County 911 says there is no timetable on when the interstate may reopen.
