Serious Accident Blocks Route 78 Traffic Berkeley Heights (IN PROGRESS)
A fatal accident resulted in a complete halt of traffic on Tuesday evening, Dec. 23 in Berkeley Heights, as per witnesses and ongoing updates. The NJDOT website indicated the closure of all lanes at Exit 41 due to an incident in the westbound lanes. A passerby named Andrew Morgan mentioned observing an individual lying on the road under a blanket in the right lane, before the arrival of law enforcement. He noted a truck's deliberate positioning to shield the person's body from traffic. Additionally, Morgan saw a car with its hazard lights on, suggesting that the individual who was hit had possibly pulled over.
