Second Teen Fatally Injured in Tragic Sledding Incident

A tragic incident involving a pair of teenage best friends sledding during a recent snowstorm has deeply saddened a community in Texas. The Frisco Police Department confirmed on Jan. 28 that one of the girls had passed away in the hospital, following the death of her friend during the sledding accident on Jan. 25. The two girls, identified as 16-year-olds Grace “Gracie” Brito and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Angle, were both sophomores at Frisco Wakeland High School. Police responded to an accident call on Jan. 25 in Frisco and found the girls with severe injuries. Despite being transported to local hospitals, they both tragically lost their lives. Preliminary investigations revealed that a 16-year-old boy was driving a Jeep Wrangler while pulling the girls on a sled, which unfortunately led to the accident. The police addressed rumors of alcohol involvement and urged against sharing unverified information during such a difficult time for the families. The parents of Elizabeth Angle and Grace Brito shared messages of grief and remembrance for their daughters on social media, describing them as bright and beloved individuals. The community, including the Express Cheer and Dance Team in Frisco, also expressed their condolences and remembered Grace Brito as kind-hearted and optimistic.
