SCHP investigation fatal vehicle pedestrian collision in Orangeburg Co.
A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. 21 at McMichael St., according to preliminary information from authorities. The collision occurred at approximately 3:10 p.m. when a 2021 Honda Ridgeline traveling north on U.S. 21 struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the roadway. The pedestrian was transported to a hospital for treatment, officials said, but later died from injuries sustained in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
