Rollover crash that included an ejection closes eastbound I-70 in Mesa County

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - One person was ejected in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Monday morning on eastbound U.S. Interstate 70 outside of Palisade. According to the Colorado State Patrol, two occupants of the vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital. Eastbound I-70 is closed at milepost 42, and the reopening time is unknown. The right lane of westbound I-70 was temporarily closed, but it has fully reopened. The Colorado Department of Transportation suggested travelers can take a detour route that has them traveling south on U.S. Highway 50 to Delta to CO Highway 92 and then CO 65 over the Grand Mesa before getting back on I-70 east of the crash. The Colorado State Patrol Vehicular Crimes Unit is investigating the incident. The cause of the crash is under investigation, according to CSP.
