Restrictions on Parkway East due to vehicle fire
There are significant delays due to a reported crash and subsequent fire on the Parkway East heading outbound. Emergency crews were present on the scene at mile-marker 73 in North Oakland where the fire occurred following a two-vehicle crash. While injuries were not immediately confirmed, police, firefighters, and paramedics were on-site. At 6 a.m. on Monday, PennDOT announced the closure of eastbound I-376 at the Bates Street on-ramp due to the vehicle fire, with a single lane closure on westbound I-376 at the Oakland off-ramp to make way for emergency vehicles. Around 6:40 a.m., PennDOT advised drivers heading outbound on the Parkway East to take detours at the Grant Street Exit or the Oakland/Forbes Avenue Exit.
