Police suspect impairment in fatal Mesa golf cart collision
A tragic incident occurred on Friday afternoon when a man passed away following a golf cart accident near the intersection of Greenfield Road and Southern Avenue. Mesa Police responded to the scene at approximately 4 p.m. on January 2nd and suspect that impairment may have been a contributing factor. The man was driving the golf cart when he exited while it was still moving, resulting in him being struck by the vehicle. Despite the quick actions of bystanders who lifted the golf cart off him before emergency services arrived, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. A woman who was also in the golf cart at the time was taken to the hospital for treatment, with no update on her condition provided.
