Police release new details after crash into OKC pond leaves one dead, another arrested

Police released new details after a crash over the weekend into an Oklahoma City pond that left one person dead and led to the arrest of another. What HappenedShortly after 12:30 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 12600 block of Heritage Oaks Drive, which is in a neighborhood near Northwest 122nd Street and Western Avenue, after learning that a vehicle drove into a pond and was submerged in water. According to police, the car was traveling north on Heritage Oaks Drive at a high rate of speed when it went through a dead-end cul-de-sac and crashed into the pond. Police said she was later pronounced dead. The driver was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on suspicion of second-degree murder and aggravated driving under the influence.
