Police investigating fatal crash in Lee County
Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that happened in Lee County on Monday night, according to the Virginia State Police. The crash happened at around 11:44 p.m. at the intersection of Route 642 and Route 798 in Lee County. According to authorities, a 2018 Nissan Armada struck a 2018 Ford Thunderbird multiple times. As both vehicles came through the intersection, the Thunderbird went through the guardrail, off the right side of the road, and struck a residence. A female passenger in the Thunderbird died at the scene, and the driver of the Thunderbird was injured. The driver of the Armada stayed on scene. Charges are pending. The two parties were known to each other, police added. The crash remains under investigation.
