Police: Couple killed in head-on crash in Dearborn County; 2 children hospitalized

Indiana police say a head-on crash occurred in Dearborn County on Friday evening that caused a couple to be killed and their two young children to be hospitalized.According to the Indiana State Police, the crash occurred when a 2006 F-150 being driven by a 46-year-old man crossed the center median of State Road 350 and struck a 2017 GMC Terrain being driven by 33-year-old Jordan Walters.The crash is said to have occurred at approximately 6 p.m. in the 8600 block of SR-350 as Walters was traveling eastbound on the road and the driver of the F-150 was traveling westbound.Following the collision, the F-150 is said to have spun around, before coming to a rest in the middle of the road. Meanwhile, Walters' vehicle came to a rest in an embankment on the side of the road.Both Jordan Walters and his wife, 33-year-old Sierra Walters, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Dearborn County Coroner's Office. Meanwhile, the couple's two young children were transported to nearby hospitals for injuries that they sustained in the crash.Police added that the driver of the F-150 was transported from the scene to a Cincinnati-area hospital as a result of injuries that he suffered in the crash.State Road 350 was closed for nearly four hours as police and EMS personnel responded to the scene.The cause of the crash remains under investigation by local police.
