Plane crash reported in Town of Porter
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- One person sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a plane crash on a private runway in the Town of Porter on Friday, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office said. Around 6 p.m., authorities responded to a report of a plane crash at 1698 Braley Road to find a 1986 Christen Industries Inc. Pitts S-2B biplane overturned in a field. The pilot, a 48-year-old male, was not injured; however, a 39-year-old male passenger was treated on the scene and transported to ECMC for non-life-threatening injuries. Initial investigations determined that the plane was landing when it lost directional control and overturned. The Sheriff's Office said that the names of those involved are not being released at this time. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are currently investigating the incident.
