Pensacola couple navigates loss of their unborn baby following car accident
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A crash last week in Pensacola, at the intersection of North Ninth Avenue and Bayou Boulevard, where a woman was hit by a car, resulted in the death of her unborn baby. That woman, Kailey, and her husband, Brandon, now navigate how to continue on after suffering this loss. The family has created a GoFundMe page to help get Kailey and Brandon back on their feet. According to Pensacola Police, a reckless driver travelling at a high speed ran through a red light on Bayou Boulevard, hitting Kailey's driver's side door. She was rushed to the hospital across the street, where her unborn baby girl was pronounced dead. "This is an unimaginable loss following a tragic car accident that took the life of our unborn child and grandchild at 26 weeks," Kailey and Brandon said. "While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that she is in the arms of Jesus and at peace. This child was deeply loved and already brought so much joy and hope. We are mourning all the moments and memories that will never be." Brandon was born and raised in Pensacola, while Kailey moved here from Nashville. She's a receptionist in the medical field, while Brandon works in construction. The families are asking for prayers and compassion from the community as they continue to support one another. They are grateful for the kindness they have been shown. Police say they are still investigating the incident and plan to release details on an arrest soon.
