Pedestrian Killed in Cherry Capital Airport Accident

<p>A pedestrian was killed at Cherry Capital Airport Friday, with the victim's name not yet released and TVC referring inquiries to airport shuttle contractor Metropolis.</p> <p>TVC confirmed shortly after 7pm Friday that a "pedestrian accident" had occurred earlier that day on airport property. "Emergency personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene," TVC said. "At this time, limited information is available. Airport teams are working with local authorities to assess the incident."</p> <p>Airport CEO Kevin Klein said in the release that TVC was "actively gathering details and will share verified information as soon as possible. Our thoughts are with the individuals involved, and we are focused on supporting the ongoing response."</p> <p>TVC provided another update Friday shortly after 10:30pm.</p> <p>"We are deeply saddened to inform that the incident resulted in a fatality," the statement said. "Airport personnel are actively working with local authorities and Metropolis, the company contracted by the (airport) for shuttle and parking services, as the investigation continues. Out of respect for those involved and to support the ongoing response, no further details are being released at this time. Additional media inquiries and questions may be directed to Metropolis."</p> <p>More updates on the case will be provided in the future "as they become available," according to TVC.</p>
