SEYMOUR — An Oxford man was killed in a head-on collision in Seymour Friday night, according to police. Seymour police identified the man as Richard Dimauro, 79. Officers were called to the area of the Great Hill Road and Southwest Road intersection around 8:55 p.m. for a reported crash between a 1930 Ford Model A and a Ford F350 pickup truck, according to Seymour police Deputy Chief Michael Fappiano. At the scene, officers found Dimauro, the driver of a 1930 Ford Model A, unresponsive. Personnel performed life-saving measures before Dimauro was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Fappiano said. The operator of the pickup truck, a 41-year-old Seymour man, suffered injuries that were described as not life-threatening. He was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment, according to Fappiano. Great Hill Road was closed until around 2:30 a.m. Saturday due to the crash, Fappiano said.
