OSP investigates fatal Highway 30 crash near Rainier; 69-year-old driver dies

Officials said the preliminary investigation indicates a gold Nissan Pathfinder, driven by Gary Michael George, 69, of Rainier, was traveling east on Highway 30 when it crossed the center line and struck a loaded tractor-trailer. The semi was driven by Kulwinder Singh, 36, of Auburn, Washington. “The Nissan was reported to have been observed passing traffic in the oncoming travel lane prior to the crash,” OSP stated. Police said the driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured and remained at the scene.
