One dead, one injured in Spartanburg County crash
SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - One person was killed and another taken to the hospital Saturday in a wreck in Spartanburg County. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, at around 5:45 a.m. the driver of a Honda truck was going east on Cross Anchor Road when they went off the right side of the road and up and embankment where the truck hit a culvert and overturned. A passenger in the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries. The passenger was identified as 30-year-old Sarah Elizabeth Stewart of Woodruff. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday, July 27. The crash remains under investigation by the highway patrol and Spartanburg County Coroner's Office.
