One dead, one hospitalized after head-on crash in Errol, NH

One person is dead, and another remains hospitalized after a head-on collision in Coos County, according to New Hampshire State Police. Troopers responded to Route 16 in Errol just after 5 p.m. on Friday, April 3. Their preliminary investigation determined that a 2024 GMC Sierra was traveling southbound and a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling northbound on Route 16 when both vehicles went off the road on the northbound side, where they collided head-on. That crash caused severe damage. State Police report they are now investigating the reason both vehicles left the roadway. They say that despite immediate life-saving measures by good Samaritans and emergency responders, the driver of the Chevrolet died as a result of their injuries. The driver of the GMC was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The drivers' names have not yet been released. Anyone with information that can help Troopers in their investigation is asked to contact Trooper James Zeblisky at 603-846-3333 or [email protected].
