One dead in collision with semi-truck on I-270 in Dublin

DUBLIN, Ohio (WCMH) — Emergency crews are investigating an overnight fatal crash that occurred on a west Columbus interstate early Wednesday morning. According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, a blue 2006 Volvo VNL semi-truck was traveling south on Interstate 270 South, just north of the Tuttle Crossing exit in Dublin. The truck was slowing down for stopped traffic ahead when, at 1:48 a.m., a dark blue Toyota Camry, struck the truck from behind. The driver of the Toyota was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries but was unable to survive the impact. They were pronounced dead at 3:43 a.m. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name until next of kin is notified. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured in the crash, which remains under investigation. Interstate 270 South was closed for up to four hours before reopening at 6:40 a.m.
