OHP: Driver drowns after accident along dam in Coal County
A Coalgate man has died following an accident in Coal County. Around 2 p.m. on July 21st, emergency crews were called to an accident on a dam across a pond. Investigators say a vehicle rolled over after crossing an unlevel and washed-out section of the dam. As a result, the vehicle rolled and landed on the driver. The driver, who was identified as 63-year-old Tony Gibby, became pinned under the vehicle and drowned in the water.
