Occupants flee after vehicle crashes, left in midair near DC school

Police are investigating after a car crashed into the entrance of a school parking lot in Southeast Washington, D.C. , before its occupants fled the scene Tuesday morning. ALSO SEE | Hit-and-run crash with police car in DC, police search for suspect According to the Metropolitan Police Department , Seventh District officers responded around 10:22 a.m. July 21 to the 2000 block of Savannah Terrace SE for a reported traffic crash. The crash occurred adjacent to the AppleTree Early Learning PCS–Douglas Knoll Campus in the Shipley/Douglass neighborhood. Police said a vehicle struck the main entrance to a parking lot and was left partially suspended in midair before the vehicle's occupants fled. No injuries were reported. Investigators remained at the scene Tuesday as the on-scene investigation continued.
