NYSP: Medical event believed to have caused fatal 590 crash
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — One person has died following a crash on Route 590 North near Tryon Park, according to New York State Police. Troopers said Thursday night that the crash was fatal and involved only one person. New York State Police shared more information Friday morning, saying the victim was a 60-year-old man, who they attempted to render aid to. He was pronounced deceased after he was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. According to investigators, the victim was heading north on 590 when he experienced a medical event that caused him to be unresponsive. This led the vehicle to drift onto the shoulder, hit a concrete barrier, cross the roadway, go off-road, and crash into multiple trees. The identity of the victim has not been released yet.
