NTSB investigates NJ Transit train collision as service resumed on Montclair-Boonton Line

Service on NJ Transit's Montclair-Boonton Line was restored on Saturday morning following a train collision at the Bay Street station in Montclair that injured over a dozen people. NJ Transit, New Jersey Transit Police, and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident, which caused two trains to collide and one car to derail on Friday evening. The NTSB began their investigation as the trains involved in the collision remained at the scene. Despite the incident, NJ Transit was able to resume service on the line as it terminates at Bay Street on weekends. The spokesperson for NJ Transit emphasized that safety is their top priority during the response to the incident. Passengers were allowed to use NJ Transit buses during the service suspension.
