Motorcyclist dies in crash at Grattan Raceway, deputies say
GRATTAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A motorcyclist died in a crash at Grattan Raceway west of Belding Sunday afternoon, deputies say. Around 3:15 p.m., there was a crash on the track during an open riding event, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office. One motorcyclist, a 39-year-old man from DeWitt, Michigan, was hurt in the crash. Despite lifesaving efforts, deputies say, he was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been wearing a helmet and protective gear, deputies said. It’s not clear what led up to the crash but the sheriff's office is investigating.
