Two killed in head-on crash on Marion Road SE; victims include 16-year-old girl

The Marion County Sheriff's Office is investigating a head-on crash that killed two people, including a 16-year-old girl. "Despite the efforts of first responders, both drivers sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene," the agency said. "The deceased have been identified as a 16-year-old female and 22-year-old Blaik Peruchetti." The preliminary investigation indicates a Kia crossed the centerline and collided with a Volkswagen Passat. "The loss of two young lives is a tragedy that impacts not only their families and friends, but our entire community. Our hearts go out to all those who knew and loved them during this incredibly difficult time," the agency said. "We ask the community to keep their families in their thoughts as they navigate this unimaginable loss." The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
