Nevada Highway Patrol investigates fatal crash on State Route 160

A 42-year-old Pahrump man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on State Route 160 in Clark County, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Troopers responded at about 11:35 a.m. Thursday, July 2, to a crash on northbound State Route 160 at mile marker 32. A preliminary investigation found that a white 2022 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling northbound just south of mile marker 32 in the No. 1 travel lane when the driver failed to maintain the marked lane, entered the left shoulder, and struck a median cable barrier with the vehicle’s left front. Troopers found the driver unresponsive and rendered aid. The driver was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead. The cause of death was pending. The driver was later identified as Dustin Yager, 42, of Pahrump. The crash remains under investigation by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team. The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command said it has investigated 34 fatal crashes resulting in 37 fatalities so far in 2026.
