Multiple lanes on I-70 closed near Higginsville after deadly crash
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A deadly crash has closed all westbound lanes of I-70 near Higginsville and Warrensburg on Thursday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) is on the scene of the crash involving three tractor-trailers and a car. Large clouds of thick smoke could be seen rising from the crash site as crews worked to clear the scene. As of now, troopers report one driver of a tractor-trailer has been pronounced dead. Commuters in the westbound lanes are being directed to exit off of MO-13. One eastbound lane is now open, according to MSHP; All other lanes remain closed at this time.
