Multiple crashes slow down traffic on Alamo expressway
HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Multiple crashes slowed down traffic on both eastbound and westbound lanes of the expressway in Alamo on Thursday morning. According to the Alamo Fire Department, several people from different crashes were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Alamo Fire Chief Roman Flores said that crews are preparing to clear the scene in half an hour or less. ValleyCentral crews spotted a crash involving three vehicles on the eastbound lane of the expressway, causing traffic to back up. The Texas Department of Transportation also reported an 18-wheeler crash near Tower Road on the westbound lanes of the expressway. Chief Flores said another two-vehicle crash occurred on the eastbound expressway.
