Motorcyclist killed in Sunday night crash
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A Sunday night crash involving an SUV resulted in the death of a motorcyclist, according to Austin Police. First responders received a 911 call reporting the crash around 9:47 p.m., APD said. The crash happened in the 9300 block of North Lamar Avenue. It led to a shutdown of the road between Cooper Drive and West Rundberg Lane. APD announced at 1:47 a.m. that the road had reopened. APD noted that the SUV's driver remained at the scene, and that officers performed a sobriety test of that driver. No arrests were made at the scene, APD later told KXAN. The motorcyclist's identity has not yet been released. Austin has had 33 other traffic fatalities this year, as of May 23.
