Motorcyclist dies after Route 9 crash in Albany
Video features NEWS10's original coverage from June 24. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Albany on Wednesday night. The incident took place on Route 9 near the Northern Boulevard overpass. Officers with the Albany Police Department responded to the area around 6:40 p.m. on June 24 following up on reports of a motorcycle crash. Detectives determined that 53-year-old David Gonzalez of Latham allegedly lost control of his motorcycle while heading north on Route 9, causing him to be thrown from the vehicle and strike a guardrail. Gonzalez was declared dead at the scene, according to APD. The investigation remains ongoing.
